Immerse yourself in a deeply rejuvenating 45-minute sauna session at Island Alive. Set beneath towering native pines, our traditional barrel steam sauna offers a unique connection to the natural rhythms of Kangaroo Island. As you ladle pure rainwater over hot rocks, the temperature can rise to a therapeutic 90°C, filling the sauna with cleansing steam and inviting deep relaxation. The intensity of heat is completely under your control.

As an add-on - plunge into an invigorating ice bath and ignite your circulation before surrendering to the deep warmth of our steam sauna. This contrast therapy ritual awakens your senses, builds resilience, and restores balance. Enjoy multiple rotations between heat and cool-down to boost circulation, promote detoxification, and leave you feeling refreshed and renewed. Or may prefer to just step outside into the fresh forest air to cool off under the invigorating outdoor rainwater shower - a gentle refreshment under the canopy of trees.  

With exclusive access to the sauna deck, take time to stretch out, watch kangaroos hop by, and breathe in the stillness of this secluded corner of Kangaroo Island. Guests are also welcome to use the on-site kitchen and rustic rainwater tank bathroom, handcrafted using repurposed materials and designed with a low environmental footprint in mind.
