Forest Alchemy is a rare, winter-only experience offered on just four select dates, created for those seeking connection, restoration and exceptional flavour in nature. Hosted in Island Alive’s private pine forest on Kangaroo Island, this intimate gathering brings together water, earth, fire and air through contrast therapy, forest ritual and a seasonal, locally sourced menu.

Your experience begins with a guided barefoot forest walk and grounding breathwork, inviting presence, sensory awakening and connection to the landscape. Led by Island Alive owner and Wim Hof Method instructor Amy Pysden, this opening ritual prepares the body and mind for the elements that follow.

You are then welcomed into a private cycle of sauna, cold plunge and wood-fired hot tub, where heat and cold are experienced gently and at your own pace. Freshly shucked American River oysters are served and enjoyed in the hot tub, paired with a glass of premium Kangaroo Island wine - water meeting water in its most elemental form.

As twilight deepens, fire takes centre stage. Guests are invited to witness the culinary theatre of chef Virginia Jones of The Providore, a passionate local with a deep connection to Kangaroo Island’s land and produce. Seafood is cooked over open flame, followed by a hero course of fire-cooked, marinated beef fillet, accompanied by foraged vegetables, including lagoon samphire and coastal saltbush. The meal concludes with a theatrical flaming dessert, followed by a warming aperitif shared around the fire.

From here, the evening softens into conversation, connection and presence - time to relax privately with those you came with, or to share stories with new people if joining as a couple. Forest Alchemy offers the perfect balance between being nurtured and enjoying meaningful, unhurried time together.

The experience is limited to six guests per event. Groups of six enjoy a fully private gathering and receive an exclusive gift. Couples joining others are welcomed into a shared table - an opportunity to meet new people and experience something truly unique together.

Pricing begins at the advertised rate, with final cost tailored to guest requests, dietary requirements and preferences - all of which are thoughtfully catered for. One glass of wine is included, with additional beverages available by arrangement.

For those wishing to extend the experience, overnight accommodation is available as an optional add-on. Guests staying the night enjoy a complimentary sauna the following morning, with the option to add a one-hour relaxation massage for deeper rest and recovery.
